These are the products that I am currently using:

However, I now use local suet that I render into tallow myself, as well as local beeswax.

When I first started, these products below are the ones I used, and still use if I run out of time or product!

Equipment:

Ingredients:

  1. Measure tallow and beeswax and place in your melting pot. Something with a spout is ideal. You can always transfer the melted product from a normal pot to something with a spout but it may cool quicker.

  2. Place on stovetop over low heat and allow everything to melt completely. The beeswax will take longer than the tallow!

  3. While you are waiting for the products to melt, assemble your lip balm tubes and holder. Make sure all of the tubes are screwed down completely, and push firmly into each whole.

  4. Once everything is melted, remove the burner and allow to cool for just a few minutes.

  5. Add your flavoring (if using) and mix thoroughly.

  6. Slowly start to fill each lip balm tube with your product. I try to pour it so it just fills each tube to the top, but you are bound to have overspill and that is totally fine. The kit is intended for this (see video above).

  7. Once all of the tubes are filled, take your spatula and scrape all of the excess off, making all of the lip balm tops smooth (see video above).

  8. Allow to fully cool (only takes about 15 minutes), then you may remove each tube from the holder and put the caps on.
